I first heard a version of this song sung in Hebrew sung by a guy named Daklon. There was another song of his (My Liberty) that really spoke to me on many levels and I will eventually work on that one as well.

Anyway, this is my translation of the first one, part of my project to provide English lyrics to some songs, so that my wife and you (my audience and - hopefully - future fan) may have the benefit of commiserating (or vice-versa) with the poor sailor.
